If you are a VIP participant, we will pick you up at the airport and take you to the Sundial where you will be staying. As a VIP participant - we take you everywhere you need to be.
  • Where should I stay? If you are making your own arrangements for a hotel and transportation, you will want to stay in Old Town in Downtown Scottsdale. There are many reasonable chain hotels located right in Old Town. If you choose the VIP package you will be staying at the Sundial Hotel on Camelback Road. We have 9 rooms reserved in case everyone chooses the VIP package. Just as an aside, your hotel room will definitely exceed the total VIP cost because this time of year we have 7.95% sales tax and a 22% bed/breakfast tax in effect.

Therefore, you should bring business casual but comfortable clothing, since you will be moving your equipment around the hotels. Bring a sweater or jacket for twilight shooting and at night.
  • What if I have special food needs? If you have specific dietary requirements, we can make special arrangements for you, but need this information as soon after you enroll.
  • What equipment should I bring? We have certain photographic restrictions at the venues, so we are asking that you limit your equipment to a camera, any lenses you might want to use, a speedlite type flash (no stands), batteries, storage cards, your camera manual, and a cleaning kit. Although we won't be doing any individual post processing, you may want to have a laptop or tablet with you for taking notes. We will provide internet service for you at every venue.
  • What happens during the morning sessions? Each morning session will have a theme and be led by one of our instructors. After the instructional lecture, the skill will be demonstrated on a "set". You will have the opportunity to photograph the "set". This will be a group session and the instructors will be available to help you through the session. Morning sessions are 3-4 hours.
  • What happens during the afternoon sessions? Each afternoon, we break out into groups of 2 or 3 with an instructor and photograph the venue. Every hour you will switch instructors so that everyone has a chance to learn from all instructors each day. Afternoon sessions are 3-5 hours.
